London - Days 2 & 3

Hey everyone!

Sorry to have taken so long to update again, but as it turns out, it takes a LONG time to upload pictures from my camera to the computer. Since I take a lot of pictures, that means a lot of time waiting... we were super tired last night when we arrived in Madrid, so the patience was at a minimum ;)

Anyway, back to London... days 2 and 3 were somewhat the same, having been spent doing the touristy stuff around the city. On day 2, we took the big red tour bus around the city to get idea of what the scene was like and then on day 3 we got out our walking shoes and visited the specific areas we want to see. Below is a bit of a breakdown of what we did... but first, some stats!

Day 2:
Steps taken = 17,603
Miles walked = 6.38

Day 3:
Steps taken = 19,476
Miles walked = 7.06

And on to the pictures... we started off with the tour bus and got off to visit Kensington Palace (where Princess Diana lived after her divorce). As it turns out, it was under ridiculous amounts of construction so my pictures are lame, but here's one:

Then, I had to show JC Harrod's department store, so we stopped off there and bought some fancy chocolates... we enjoyed those every once in awhile for the rest of our time in London (the one with the strawberry in the upper left was the BEST):

After that, we toured a bit more on the bus, and ended up at the original Hard Rock Cafe. We took a tour of some of the "extra cool" stuff that they have on display (down in the depths of the restaurant)... JC can provide more info on the stuff we saw, but here's a pic of him in the store:

We started off day 3 with a tour of Buckingham Palace (including the Queen's Gallery and the Royal Mews):

Then made our way over to Westminster Abbey (I just thought the second pic looked cool when I found it while I was downloading):

It started raining after that, so I don't have any pics of St. Paul's Cathedral, but we did climb ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP (all 700 steps or something)... the view was pretty amazing though:

Then it was off to Tower of London and Tower Bridge:

The city pass that we bought included a free river cruise, so we enjoyed that... and even got to watch them open up Tower Bridge while we were on it:

Our last stop for London was the London Eye.... which was pretty ridiculously cool. These pictures were taken from the very top:

And that was it! (Not really considering I have about 500 other pictures, but you get the idea) The next day we left for Madrid, but I'll cover that in a separate post ;)

We're having a great time, but we miss everyone at home like crazy.

Lauren & JC :)
