Daisy's lunch walk

Lauren and I try to take Daisy out to lunch as much as possible.
Usually we take a table outside while she sits down and looks around.

Today we took her to chipotle but there's a little fence and daisy did
not like to be left outside so she barked and barked until she annoyed
everyone and I had to leave and find another table.

Anyway it's a pretty dumb post but I wanted to test the mobile
blogging and I had an excuse. :)

Belize -> Mexico City -> LA

I guess we haven't posted anything in a while, so let me bring you up to speed.

First, Belize went well, it was a really tiring trip. Lauren and I went hiking the last day we were there and went all the way to a waterfall (I'll upload the video tonight). We were told that the way back was flatter so we decided to cross the river and hike back through the dirt road. I fell on the river trying to cross it and making sure that the cameras were fine. There we met a couple from Montana and gave them a ride the next morning to Belmopan on our way to Mexico.

The next morning we headed back to Mexico, where we would fly back to LA. After we crossed the border, I got the call that I was afraid of getting for the last 4 years: My grandma Cheque had passed away....I guess I was psychologically very prepared for this because her quality of life had been very bad for the last 6 years so I guess that I felt some comfort that she would be on a better place and not suffering. She died 4 days before turning 91 years old.

We drove for 4 more hours and while we were crossing the Quintana Roo jungle, we had no cell coverage which made it difficult to start making plans so as soon as we arrived to Playa del Carmen, stopped at a Vips to use the internet connection and found out that, Luckily for this situation, United Airlines had canceled our flight without replacing it with a new one. That made it possible for us to get a flight to Mexico City to go to my grandma's funeral.

We went there and pretty much were with the family all the time, went to several church services. It felt really good to say the last goodbye to such an angel that my grandma was and to remember all of the amazing thing she did for us all her life. I will remember her with a lot of love. Hasta siempre Abuelita Cheque!

I also went to see my other grandma, who is not doing very well either, she is the mom of my dad and I am really happy I got the chance to see her too.

Once we flew back to LA, and came back to work and Lauren and I decided that now that we are married we should change several things in the house to mark down a new beginning. We will post pictures of that once they are ready.

Also we have decided that we should keep posting here to keep our friends and families up to date with what we are doing so please visit us constantly. :)

Lauren you want to chime in?

Belize Day 2

We made it to Belize!! If I'm being perfectly honest, it's a miracle we made it at all, but we're having a great time now that we're at the hotel.

The drive from Playa del Carmen to Belize near the hotel wasn't terrible at all... lots to look at and it only took about 8 hours. Unfortunately, we got some bad directions from the hotel when I called and they told us to take this road that came straight from hell... it was so rocky that we were only driving about 5 miles per hour and we were convinced that we'd caused the death and destruction of our rental car. And then when we did get to the hotel there were literally NO signs to take us to the lobby.

JC and I were so angry that we nearly decided to turn back... that or we were only going to stay one night and then head back to Cancun. We met with the manager who offered to have their mechanic take care of the car and we'll have an escort to take us back to the main road for our drive back.

Aside from that... the hotel is gorgeous. It's in the middle of nowhere, our room is insanely beautiful (and has a private pool!), and it'll be a great opportunity for us to just relax and literally do nothing for 2 days.

We don't have any videos or pics yet, but hopefully tomorrow :)

Wedding Day!

Ok... so we're a little late in posting our wedding video, but here we have it. During our flight to Mexico City, JC created a 2 minute quick overview of the wedding. For those who are interested, we have plenty more videos so we can show you or post them at a later date. We also don't have any pictures yet (unless you're on facebook, you can see them there), but we will post once we have them. I think in all we'll end up having several thousand pictures to go through.

The wedding day was definitely one to remember... it started out nice and relaxed and then the 2 hours before the wedding were a whirlwind of last minute place cards, making my bouquet, making sure everyone was done up all pretty, and getting me laced into my dress... things were so hectic that we nearly forgot to put on my veil!

The ceremony was beautiful and went off nearly without a hitch, then we did pictures (and even sat in the sand with our pretty clothes!), then had some AMAZING food and then partied all night, ending up with some of us in the pool (or sitting around it) with 130 beers and 2 bottles of tequila.

The wedding was more than anything JC and I could have ever asked for and he and I are both extremely happy everything happened the way it did. We thank everyone who was able to make it (and particularly to those were so helpful with everything) and we were thinking all night about the people who couldn't.

Right now he and I are sitting in the Mexico City airport waiting for our flight to Cancun. Once we arrive in Cancun we'll make the drive down to Playa del Carmen and then tomorrow will be one looooooooong drive to our hotel in Belize. We'll post again soon!

Day 5!

Day 5 was a big day... tons of people arrived: Brad, Bonnie, Renee, Bob, Robert, Jane, Mark, Whitney, Jeff, Ivo, and Fer... and we have plenty more today :)

The day was spent picking people up from the airport, us transitioning from the Westin to the Cabo Surf (gorgeous hotel with awesome rooms!), trying deserts for the wedding, and having plenty of cervezas. We also finished off the legal work to get me approved to marry a Mexican... yay! I'm legal

Today we'll have hopefully more pool time, more visiting with guests, and maybe a trip to the Arch.

Enjoy our guests bloggers in this new video:
